This is what I woke up to when I tuned on the computer this morning. It’s what happens when Aaron stays up late to work, and I wake up before the sun. I just had to share. :D

Here I am, just hang out with a cactus…oh hahahahaaa cactus – you are so funny! Just me and the cacti giving face.
Anyways, it’s FRIDAY! Woot woot! Hope everyone has a suppa duppa weekend. Anyone have any exciting plans? Aaron and I might put some shelves up in our kitchen. IKEA I will be seeing ya. (Kinda rhymes.) Actually it really doesn’t. I’m trying to say it out loud so it does. :/
Ok ok bye guys! <3

Hey peeps, so I don’t know if you noticed, but yesterday I titled my blog by date. For some reason I decided it was a good idea to use a 3, instead of 5, the number that actually represents the month of May. Seriously I don’t know what it is with me and typos. Amanda Shoemaker QUEEN OF TYPOS! Well at least I’m not trying to get a job in journalism. Haha! I will blame my errors on this wee hour of the morning. I’m still half asleep….that’s it! And the sun isn’t even up yet. Yeah sun, I blame you! I can barely see the keys to even type it’s so dark. THAT must be the problem. ;)

Yeah, I’m on my roof. It was probably one of the most terrifying actions I have ever attempted. The stairs to my roof are these cantilever metal slabs that jet out about 2 feet from the side of the house. As I walked up them I kept repeating to myself “these are regular stairs, just like regular stairs.” Once I got up there, I had to wait for my husband to get home from work to help me down.
I have an unreasonable fear of heights.
Anyways I hope you guys enjoy my first personal style post since my return. At least I hope you enjoy my attempt to conquer my fear.
Smoooches!

Hello my people! How have you been? I’d love to hear what everyone has been up to over the past few months. I can’t believe how long I’ve been gone. Sorry to leave you guys hanging.
Basically the past months for me have been filled with change and reinvention. Change that touches every aspect of my life. My appearance on a external and internal level, my mind in the way I perceive the world and how I am perceived, and finally my physical location. So will out being all hippy dippy. I bleached my hair blonde. I did something called the 30dayPUSH and got my body and my mind back in shape. Oh and I moved into a house. (pictures to follow)
Even with all of that going on, I couldn’t leave all social media behind. I tried to keep up on Instagram. These are just a few random pics.
1. My new blonde hair
2. NEW HOUSE
3. My lovely new bedroom
4. The view from the mountain…that’s basically in my backyard.

Wait… can my appearance be on an internal level. Sounds weird but I think it can.
Love you guys, more to come soon! I PROMISE! <3

Moving on to round 3 of the Jane By Design Style Challenge, I was asked to choose a purse from my closest that best represents the very essence of who I am. I went with this versatile Marc Jacobs bag, I purchased last fall. It can transform from a casual “bucket bag” to a professional “tote” with a mere loosening of the drawstring closure. Besides all that, it’s HUGE. Perfect for packing around all my essentials.
I believe this metamorphosing handbag mirrors me and my versatility like no other. My mood and style are ever changing along with what I do each day. I can go from being a treading blogger sipping on lattes at the coffee house, to the professional Art Director at the office. It’s the perfect handbag to represent me and my lifestyle.
Do you have a handbag that embodies you? I’d love to see your purses and as always so would Jane By Design. Post a picture of your purse on the Jane By Design Facebook page here. (Make sure to tell them One of Each sent you) Doing that will actually help me out in the competition immensely, and it will also give YOU a chance to be featured on the ABC Family’s – Jane by Design website as a trendsetter! That’s right people, if One of Each wins, one of my deserving readers wins too! I hope you can help! <3

As an early Christmas to himself, Aaron finally bought a fancy new Martin guitar. This in turn is also a Christmas present for me, because now he must learn all the songs I want to sing! He has no excuses now. Muuahahaha! (<--evil laugh) Basically that means he learned a LOT of Christmas songs over the past few weeks.
Anyways we were just goofing around this weekend and decided to record a little jingle - nothing fancy. When I started my blog, I made it for myself. To express myself in any form that I felt like. Art, fashion, decorating, and if I so choose singing. I know we are not the most talented musicians in the world, but I like to sing, and no one can stop me!
Plus the song is quite fitting for Arizona winters. So I hope everyone's holiday, if not filled with white snow, is filled with much love.
Merry Christmas from Aaron & Amanda

Who is your style icon? That was the question posed to us bloggers competing in the Jane by Design Style Challenge. Not only were we to write about our style icon, but we had to take the plain white tee from our trunks and create a design inspired by that icon.

Mine was a no brainer. Chloë Sevigny is my ultimate style inspiration. She is always pushing fashion limits and it seems as if nothing will hold her creativity back. Not only am I inspired by Chloë’s sense of style, but also by her range of talent and her many accomplishments. I would have to say that Chloë is the definition of a “One of Each” girl. She’s an actor, model, fashion designer, and an all around “it” girl. Her style really encompasses all of her identities. From red carpet glam to 90′s grunge inspired looks, Chloë Sevigny embodies today’s fashion chameleon.

As I starred at my blank canvas in the form of a white tee-shirt, I began to brainstorm what I believe exemplifies Chloë style. Then it came to me. My creation needed to be versatile, fresh, edgy, with a hint of her signature 90′s flare. I got to work and decided to crop and distress my shirt. I wanted to keep it simple to help go from day to night – office to evening out. I cropped it to touch on the 90′s feeling while also giving it that young and fresh vibe. Then to distress, I shredded patches up the sides of the shirt to create a really edgy finish. (Be careful doing that btw. I totally stabbed my finger with my seam ripper and almost added a nice red spatter to my shirt!)

I love the fact that my creation could be kept casual with jeans, dressed up with a high waisted skirt, thrown over a dress, or paired with a flannel. You could even wear it to the office with a blazer and high waited trousers. With all that versatility, I think nothing could embody Chloë’s style better.
Now I will ask you the same question. Who is your style icon? To help me out with the contest and post your answers HERE on the Jane by Design Facebook page!
It feels good to complete the first style challenge for Jane by Design. Hopefully my shopping finds are impressive enough to move on to the next round. Also I mentioned that if you have a haul video to share, you can post them on the Jane by Design Facebook page HERE. If you do, it will actually boost my chances of continuing to the next challenge. I hope you guys can help. Just tell mention that Amanda from One of Each Blog sent you. Thanks so much! <3
