Today is Tuesday and that can only mean one thing. It’s Tuneday! So forget your morning coffee – ‘awake YOUR body’ with a little Alexander this morning. You know, Alexander Ebert from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. I know you know. You can’t get away from their song “Home”.
Anyways I love this album and I have been listening to it non-stop for the past few days – as one should. It’s a little bit reggae, folk, and pop all mixed into one. Reminds me a little bit of The Beatles, and I swear I hear some Elvis-like melodies in there as well. Weird and awesome all in one!
Since my last post was titled “Listen to French Music”, many of you would like to know what French music I speak of. If you have already begun to play the video above, by now I’m sure you have noticed that it is in fact – not a French song. Not only is it not a French song, but it was originally sung by the German singer Nico, and is being covered here by a Swedish man. Although I have really been into 60’s French music recently, I’m sharing this song with you instead because I am kinda in love with it at the moment. So that is that.
I do not want to disappoint though, so I will also share a few French singers I have been listening to…these days. (Wink-wink, see what I did there.) Françoise Hardy is the top lady on my list. You may even recolonize her song “Le Temps de L’Amour” from the Moonrise Kingdom preview. I also enjoy Jane Birkin of course. Both ladies defiantly inspired my mood, and my hair style last week. Oh and Stella is up there as well. Really any French song from the 60’s will do.
Here are a few songs off of Grandaddy’s album The Sophtware Slump. My favorite song is, “He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot”,
but it wouldn’t upload because it’s like 9min long. :/ Never mind, husband genius to the rescue!
Yup it’s that time again… a day of tuneage. I wanted to learn that Matt Costa song I was tell you guys about, but that will have to be for another Tuneday. This week, Dr Dog. It’s good stuff, especially if you like listening to the oldies. It’s basically new oldies. What a conundrum. The last song “Heart it Races” isn’t off their Be The Void album…but it’s one of my favorites so I had to throw it up there. Enjoy!
Happy Tuneday all. Today’s tunes are from a band called Local Natives, off their album Gorilla Manor. I’ve been listening to these guys all weekend. Some great road trip jams!
Catch you cats next week for a new addition of Tuuuuesday Tuneday. *in crazy radio dj voice.
Hey Guys, sorry for missing Tuesday Tuneday. I have made it up to you by posting this little tune Aaron and I recorded a while back. (Recorded as a voice memo on my iPhone, just messing around on the weekend in our living room. I don’t think I even knew the song that well at the time.) Any-who it’s a cover of a song by Yellow Ostrich, titled Mary. I’ll have to post more of their songs next Tuneday, if I haven’t already. I can’t remember.
Ok well I must be off to work now. <3
As an early Christmas to himself, Aaron finally bought a fancy new Martin guitar. This in turn is also a Christmas present for me, because now he must learn all the songs I want to sing! He has no excuses now. Muuahahaha! (<--evil laugh) Basically that means he learned a LOT of Christmas songs over the past few weeks.
Anyways we were just goofing around this weekend and decided to record a little jingle - nothing fancy. When I started my blog, I made it for myself. To express myself in any form that I felt like. Art, fashion, decorating, and if I so choose singing. I know we are not the most talented musicians in the world, but I like to sing, and no one can stop me!
Plus the song is quite fitting for Arizona winters. So I hope everyone's holiday, if not filled with white snow, is filled with much love.
Merry Christmas from Aaron & Amanda

Every Tuneday should be a Bright Eyes Tuneday in my opinion. Anywho here are my top 3 songs off Bright Eyes’ new album The People’s Key.
Oh it’s that time again! Tuesday Tuneday. It’s most likely your favorite day of the week. 😉 As for today’s tunes from Yellow Ostrich, I have just started to listen to them. I was pretty much in love from the first note. Ha ha ha oh ho ho, enjoy!
Hi! I’m Tuesday Tuneday. It’s been awhile, did you miss me? Hope you enjoy Camera Obscura. (Hey this is Amanda-I choose this band due to the fact I am so excited to go to Obsucra in NYC.)
